Structure chemical bonds and Bonding covers introductory atomic chemical bonds and molecular theory as given in first chemical bonds and second year undergraduate courses at university level. This book explains in non-mathematical terms where possible, the factors that govern covalent bond formation, the lengths chemical bonds and strengths of bonds chemical bonds and molecular shapes. Throughout the book, theoretical concepts chemical bonds and experimental evidence are integrated. An introductory chapter summarizes the principles on which the Periodic Table is established, chemical bonds and describes the periodicity of various atomic properties which are relevant to chemical bonding. Chemical bond - A chemical bond is the physical phenomenon of chemical substances being held together by attraction of atoms to each other through electrons or by electrostatic forces. Classically, strong chemical bonds are found in molecules, crystals or in solid metal and they organize the atoms in ordered structures.

Chemical structure - Chemical structure is the arrangement of atoms within a molecule, usually linked by covalent bonds. Chemical structure can range from the very simple, such as diatomic oxygen or nitrogen molecules, to the very complex, such as protein or DNA molecules.
